Artisans of Inti seeks to support artisans and preserve artisanal heritage in the Peruvian Andes by connecting artisans to the global fair trade marketplace.
We do this by paying our artisans a fair wage and ensuring safe working conditions to produce high-quality seasonal collections that source from multiple artisans across the Cusco region.
Equally, we intend to do what we can to invest in the future of Peru’s artisanal traditions.
Being a brand new company, we are in the beginning stages of exploring how to best serve the artisans with whom we work, and our future Artisans of Inti. Our very first Artisan of Inti, José, spoke with us about his dream to teach others the art of shoemaking. José envisions creating a vocational school in Cusco to teach low-income youth the trade of shoemaking— creating a career path for his students to make an honest living with a valuable skillset.
José’s dream is something that we intend to support by dedicating a set percentage of our sales to his project. Our goal is to have the ability to invest 5% of our sales by this summer 2019, with the intention to increase our support over time, and/or to choose an additional project in which we invest.
If you would like to make a contribution to the creation of a vocational school for shoe-making in Cusco in the meantime, please email us at firstname.lastname@example.org.
